Al Otero and his wife MaryAnn
conduct this operation with the help of a number of
Cornerstone Alumni and Knights of Columbus. Clothing is collected
through a network that Al and MaryAnn have put developed
over the years, as well as a Clothing Drop Box that was
purchased through a fund raiser jointly conducted in a
network of Cornerstone Alumni and the
Knights of Columbus (at which most of the active,
working members are Cornerstone Alumni). The box
delivered cost was just under $800.
St. Augustine parish let us place the box in a
prominent spot on the grounds (36 acres) as a part of
their Social Ministry group,
headed by Deacon Steve DeMartino, a Cornerstone Alumnus
and a Knight.
As you
can see, our Cornerstone Alumni get involved at their
parish and with organizations like the Knights of
Columbus, a wonderful Charity/Service focused
organization. Actually, the Knights of Columbus is
a perfect answer to the question of new retreatants,
"what's next?"
